Location & Getting Around
The Penguin Parade at Summerland Beach is approximately 12 km from the property — around a 15-minute drive. Most guests visit in the evening, return to the house for a late dinner, and find it's one of the most convenient bases for the experience.
Cowes Beach is about a 10-minute walk. It's one of the most sheltered beaches in Victoria — calm, clean, and great for swimming all summer. The foreshore walking path is right there too.
Yes — the property is centrally located in Cowes, and the main strip of cafes, restaurants, and shops is an easy 10-minute walk. You won't need your car for most of your day-to-day activities during the stay.
Phillip Island is packed with things to do. Key attractions include the Koala Conservation Reserve (5 km), the Nobbies and Seal Rocks (14 km), Smiths Beach (11 km), and the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit (11 km). The island is compact — you can comfortably visit all the major sites over a two-day stay.
Phillip Island is approximately 140 km south-east of Melbourne CBD — about a 90-minute to 2-hour drive depending on traffic. The most common route is via the South Gippsland Highway through Cranbourne and San Remo, crossing the Phillip Island bridge into Newhaven. There is no direct public transport to the island, so a car is strongly recommended.
